About This Spot

Stepping into Restaurant Gorgasali feels like being gently invited into a warm corner of Tbilisi’s rich cultural tapestry. Nestled just a stone’s throw from the Botanical Garden, the restaurant hums with a quietly joyful energy — a space where traditional Georgian hospitality unfolds at its own comfortable pace. There’s a genuine sense of connection here, from the friendly welcomes to the careful attention that accompanies each moment spent at the table.

The atmosphere carries the subtle excitement of an intimate gathering, where aromatic wafts of slow-cooked stews mingle with the distant strains of live folk music and dance performances. These aren’t just background touches; they thread through the evening like a shared story, inviting guests to linger, watch, and feel the heritage that shapes every bite and step.

Dining here is less about rushing through a meal and more about savoring the authenticity of Georgian flavors—the kind that come from recipes passed down through generations, seasoned with local warmth and pride. Whether it’s the tender textures of slow-roasted meats or the comforting richness of cheese-filled breads, each dish seems to hold a personal invitation to experience Georgia’s culinary soul. The wine and cocktails carry their own stories too, complementing the food without overpowering the quiet rhythm of the evening.

Service strikes a balance between attentive and unhurried, asking guests to participate gently in the flow rather than dictating its speed. This approach encourages a relaxed engagement with both the food and the lively performances that punctuate the night, making your visit feel like an unfolding moment among friends rather than a mere meal.

For those arriving with curiosity and an open heart, Gorgasali offers not just taste but a window into Tbilisi’s living traditions—a space where the pulse of Georgian hospitality beats steadily and sincerely beneath an inviting canopy of music, dance, and timeless flavors.

We stopped in after speaking to the gentleman outside (he was very nice and not pushy). Atmosphere was very nice. Anywhere we go, we try local dishes and it did not disappoint. Kinkali, chicken in white sauce, lobio, and suggested wine were all excellent. Service was very good. One thing to keep in mind while here; service is a little different. Sometimes you need to politely raise your hand/get the servers attention to order/assistance. That goes for almost everywhere. It's not bad.....just different.

Excellent dishes, very friendly and fast service. Also lots of kudos go to both singers and dancers. Highly recommended.

I mainly came here for the evening folk dances, which seem to take place every half hour. The food was good and well cooked, but it was quite expensive and the portions were very small. The music was too loud. Staff was fast to seat and serve you, but slow to bring the check. They were really focused on what appeared to be a high profile table.

First time in georgia and tbilisi, first restaurant on our trip and what a wonderful dishes. Chef is legendary and georgian cuisine, wines and chachachaa takes your taste buds away and steals your heart bite at a time. Location is perfect just perfect, next to botanical garden and starting point for bus trips around georgia. Best georgian bathhouses etc. Truly recommending this restaurant. Ps. Il be back!

By far the best meal I have had in Tbilisi. I ordered the Chicken Chakhokhbili and it was so flavorful and delicious. The presentation was perfect and you can also enjoy some live traditional Georgian music and Georgian ballet dance while you have your meal. The cocktail was also on point. Highly recommended.
